Checkersland

Checkersland — a computer game in different kinds of checkers: Russian, international (100-cell), giveaway (back checkers), Halma, Stolbovaya, Stavropol, Turkish, English (checkers), and many others. You can play alone, with computer and online.

Some of the features: customizable levels of difficulty when playing with computer, random placement of checkers (edit the positions), the recording and playback of the parties to (from) the format of the PDN (Portable Draughts Notation), saving images of diagrams.

System requirements: you need to have in your operating system (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, Solaris) has been installed Java runtime environment version 1.7 and above. For Windows there is. exe installation file, for other systems the jar file.
Install Java in Linux: to install the package “openjdk-7-jre” from the package Manager.
Checkersland exists for other platforms: Android (install from Google Play), mobile phone with Java support.

Running the game from terminal (in Linux): open a terminal in the folder with the jar file of the game and execute the command
java-jar ./checkersland.jar
To run from the graphical environment (by clicking) you need to make the jar file executable (in Linux):
chmod +x ./checkersland.jar
Click right AWAY for the game file —> “Open in another app” —> choose “Open JDK Java 7 Runtime” or another Java, what have you. Tick “Use by default for this file type”.

Russian language: Yes (menu “Options” —> “Settings” —> “Interface language”)
