Wizznic! — arcade C (si) / SDL puzzle game created based on the Puzznic.
Puzznic arcade game of the genre of tile-matching (puzzle with matching tiles), developed and published in 1989 year, the company Taito for the arcade machines. Later the game was ported to consoles, 8bit and 16bit home computers (Sharp X68000, Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, etc).
Wizznic! made in the best traditions of classic pixel art (pixel art) and almost identical mechanics of the original game. The gameplay consists in moving the “blocks” in a confined space, the player’s task to connect the same “units” for their mutual destruction, to clear the playing field.
Move “blocks” can only be right or left (not raise them), if by “unit” there’s no other “block” or wall it falls down under its own weight. When two or more “blocks” of one type, they are destroyed. Despite its apparent simplicity, the difficulty of the game increase significantly with level geometry, elevators, number and location of “blocks“.
Wizznic! has a large number of levels, increasingly complex as it passes. The game “default” start in windowed mode (320X240), the desired window size and/or fullscreen mode can be set on the command line. Music and sound effects made in the style of 80-ies, the game built a simple “level Editor“, statistics for management using a keyboard.
