Visual Grep (vgrep)

Visual Grep (vgrep) is a small D / GTK + (gtkd/sdlang-d) graphical interface (GUI CSD) for a specialized command line utilities grep.

grep (short for Global Regular Expression Print) is a powerful console utility for searching data in a text file (the file list) of any type. Search for used compact matching algorithm Boyer-Moore, outstanding pattern, unique and predefined outcome, in the form of strings containing the sample. Utility is part of the project GNU (GNU Grep).

The functionality of grep is extensive, it can be used to search just as files and rows, or multiple rows in the file. The utility finds the string meets the specified search pattern, ordinary string or regular expression and prints them (if the output is not canceled with a special key).

Although the console version of grep is very flexible and efficient in the performance of almost all tasks, but there are times when it is preferable to use a graphical interface, for these purposes, and created vgrep (Visual Grep).

Visual Grep opens each search in a separate tab, query handling, supports threaded mode (multi-threaded application), the search is performed in the background. Search queries are made similar to the grep and is described in detail in the corresponding documentation.
