In 2026, Fedora is not only alive and well, but actively developing: the current stable release, Fedora Linux 43, was released on October 28, 2025, and Fedora 44 is already on the roadmap, with a release schedule for 2026. The community hosts events like Flock to Fedora (the last conference was held in August 2024) and regularly updates its development strategy through 2028, including initiatives to migrate infrastructure (Gitforge → Forgejo) and improve tools for AI development.
The current Fedora Linux version 43 is in supported status with a planned EOL of December 2026, while version 44 is already marked as a future release with support until 2027.
