Quilter — stylish Vala / WebKit / GTK graphical Markdown editor.
Markdown — presented in 2004 year, the lightweight markup languagecreated with the goal of writing the most readable and easy to edit text, but suitable for conversion to languages for advanced publications (HTML, Rich Text and others). Markdown is not a replacement for HTML, its syntax is limited and meets only a small subset of HTML.
Initially Quilter was designed for elementary OS (a Ubuntu created in accordance with the concept of minimalist interfaces), so the user interface is designed in an appropriate style on a low setting.
Controls Quilter located in the window header is supported the change of interface design (four themes), there is a “focus Mode” (Focus mode)when you enter or edit the highlighted text line or paragraph, you can “on the fly” to change the font of the editor.
Quilter has only the minimum required functionality for creating and editing Markdown files, supports search by document to display the result of editing, use the function “preview” (Preview), all open documents can be displayed in the side panel, there is displayed “table of contents” Markdown document.
A Quilter can work in window and full screen mode, supports exporting to HTML or PDF document, a quick reference for Markdown markup, management focused on the use of the mouse.
