Moon-buggy is a simple Ncurses (Curses) / ASCII araden implementation of the classic game Moon Patrol.
Moon Patrol is a game for the arcade released in 1982 year and is one of the first shooters with scrolling. Also the game is marked as the first game with “parallax scrolling” (scrolling with 2D effect).
Player in Moon Patrol manages the “Moon buggy” looking at it from the outside, the journey takes place on the surface of the moon. When traveling you must avoid obstacles (craters, mines, etc), and also to evade the attacks of various flying objects and fire from the surface (tanks). Gameplay like most arcade games are relatively short but very intense.
Moon-buggy (lunar truck) has only partial similarity with the Moon Patrol, the plot of the game remains the same, but the gameplay is greatly simplified. Of the obstacles left only craters that the car jumps, you have three “lives“. Using additional options you can add mines and the ability to shoot them, being a “List of records“to control using a keyboard.
