XBomb — a small C (si) / X11 (libx11) puzzle game, implemented the game Minesweeper with three types of game fields and three difficulty levels.

Minesweeper (Minesweeper) — puzzle game, in the classic version with a two-dimensional playing field is divided into cells, some of which contain hidden mines. The player must open the cages, trying not “to go” on a mine, the game ends if the player opens the cage with mine.

If the cage open mines not, it appears a number indicating the number of mines in neighboring cells. Using numbers, the player can calculate the location of mines by marking “suspicious” cells with a label (flag)to continue not to open them. The main objective of the game is to uncover all “empty” cells in the least possible time.

The result of solving the puzzle is highly dependent on the location of mines, when the field is created (random number generator) might have a situation when the player will just have to guess where a mine is. The complexity of the game is determined by the number of actions in a certain style of play (ideally)and not the difficulty of the playing field to solve a specific player.

In any placement of mines, there is a theoretical possibility the solution to the puzzle in one or several moves. But the implementation of random combinations does not allow to obtain very simple arrangement of mines, especially on the big playing field. Therefore, the results of solving the puzzle of increased complexity (second and third) display level of the player.

XBomb has three levels of difficulty, depending on the size of the playing field (small 8×8 and 10 bombs, middle 16×16, and 40 bombs, large 30х16 and 99 bombs). There is a playing field divided into squares (classical), hexagonal (hexagonal) and triangular, is “History of records“, to control using mouse and/or keyboard.
