Opera is one of the best browsers for the personal computer. Before the developers support their own engine, but then decided to switch to Chromium. The development of the browser began in 1994, a Norwegian company called Opera Software. Now the development has changed hands to a Chinese company.
In 2016, this browser has been added access to VPN with no logging, or traffic limits. In addition, new capabilities of the web browser include switching to energy-saving mode when disconnected from the network, Chromecast support, RSS support and updates browser engine. Opera browser not included in the official repositories of the distribution, since it is not distributed with open source. But you can install the program using the snap package. At the moment there are three versions of the browser:
- stable – stable release, well tested and ready to use;
- beta – already released in release, but so far the test version may be unstable;
- developer version for developers, it is very unstable, but it provides the new features and functions.
For each of these three versions is snap packages:
sudo snap install opera
sudo snap install opera-beta
sudo snap install opera-developer

But this is not the only method of installation. You can use the repository developers. Before adding a repository, first add the key:
wget-qO - https://deb.opera.com/archive.key | sudo apt-key add -
Then add the repository with the command:
sudo add-apt-repository "deb [arch=i386,amd64] https://deb.opera.com/opera-stable/ stable non-free"

By default, the connection through the VPN is not activated, but you can have it very simple to include. To do this, open Settings, scroll down and click on Advanced.
Then, find the VPN and check the box to enable VPN:
Then you will see the VPN icon in the address bar. If its color is orange, it means that you are not connected to the VPN. A blinking blue led means that the browser is safe. You can choose one of the available countries. Currently available Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Singapore and the United States. Your new IP address will be in the bottom of the window.
With Mozilla 40 you will be better protected on the Internet. However do not forget that protected only the traffic from the browser.
Configure a RSS reader
First, we need to add an icon news at the panel. To do this, open its settings by clicking on the three dots in the bottom panel. There check Personalized news.
Now select the icon for the news on the left, then click add sources. Left to enter the feed address in the text box, for example https://losst.ru/feed:
