Setzer is a full — featured Python / GTK editor for LaTeX and BibTeX files.
LaTeX most popular set of macrodactylini (the macro package) of the computer typesetting system TeX, which makes it easier to set complex documents. The package allows you to automate many of the tasks of typing and preparation of articles, besides the basic set, there are many expansion packs (thanks to the system’s capabilities is virtually unlimited).
BibTeX — used in conjunction with TeX/LaTeX software to create a list of formatted lists of bibliography (management of bibliographic information). For storing lists of bibliographic data used bib-files (*.bib), a special text file format where each record describes one publication, article, dissertation, book, etc.
User interface Setzer made in accordance with the concept of Gnome 3 (the minimalism of the interface and location of controls on the application window title), is traditionally a light and dark theme.
When you create a new LaTeX and BibTeX documents Setzer is step-by-step “Wizard“, a set of several ready-made templates. Tools to create and edit documents accessed from the buttons on the toolbar and from the context menu to open the sidebar you will find symbols organized in groups.
Setzer commands for LaTeX supports code highlighting, autocomplete (activated when you start typing), spelling correction (uses gspell), there is search, search and replace forward search on the document, the transition to the string and more…
Setzer to work requires a set TeX/LaTeX apps TexLive (texlive-core / texlive-full), preview of the created/edited document based on the capabilities of the library to rendering the PDF files Poppler (poppler-glib).
Setzer is supported by the repetition/return of changes made (Undo/Redo), history of opened documents and log events to control using mouse and/or keyboard shortcuts.
