rsyslog (rocket-fast system for log) — high-performance tool for processing log files.
rsyslog started as a more functional and reliable syslog, being forked from sysklogd in 2004 year, but over time has become a generic tool for logging, able to accept input from a variety of sources, transform them and display in different forms.
With rsyslog , you can create a centralized log server, where you can view all the events from different devices in the network, with user-friendly search on all network devices in the network. Supported multi-threading (can handle over a million messages per second), filter any part of syslog messages and fully configurable output format.
rsyslog offers high performance and safety, has a modular architecture that runs in the background (rsyslog.service)is configured through the configuration file (/etc/rsyslog.conf), settings can be set and the command line. Examples of options are available in the documentation and wiki magazine, there are ready fragments of settings and one file as example.
rsyslog saves the events in the database MySQL (free relational database management system), read and display logs you can use a convenient web interface for LogAnalyzer, also via the web-interface (WebUI) can you change the settings interactively.
