rmdupe

rmdupe — a convenient and simple tool for searching and removing duplicate files using the standard GNU Linux systems tools.

Functionality rmdupe based on the capabilities of utilities rm (remove) and find (findutils), supports searching duplicate files regardless of their name or type in one or several directories, optionally scans the subdirectories. Before removing duplicate candidates are compared byte by byte, “default” removed the new duplicates, you can limit the search for duplicates by size.

rmdupe instead of deleting the duplicate files can move them to the trash (the trash option), create a “White list” of directories in which files are excluded from the duplicate search (Reference folders). A “simulation Mode(simulation mode)showing the command execution without deleting the duplicates, the details of the process of squeak, and delete appear briefly or in detail (optional).
