httping is a small Ncurses (Curses) / FFTW console application is designed to evaluate the quality of the network connection.
Functionality httping is largely the same tools the Ping (check of connections in networks based on TCP/IP, as well as the everyday name of the query itself) and Traceroute (service utility to identify routes data networks TCP/IP).
httping is designed to measure bandwidth and latency of an HTTP server, you may launch the utility on the local machine and remotely (via SSH). The utility displays how much time is required to connect, send a request and retrieve the reply (only the headers).
httping can be run without additional options, if desired, you can specify the request parameters (the size of the buffer ports, the number of requests, the priority of the packets, etc.), colorize the text output and/or run the GUI-mode (displays the schedules of requests/responses).
httping is a detailed documentation (including in Russian), when measuring the bandwidth and latency of the web server it is necessary to remember that the transmission across the network also takes time, thus partially changing the result.
